Shawna MacKellar,

School Psychology Consultant

Shawna received her Masters of Education from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, and is currently a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals. While residing in the United States, Shawna was a licensed Clinical Psychologist (Michigan) and held an Education Specialist Credential in Mild-Moderate Disorders (California). Shawna has over 20 years conducting psychological assessment work with children in Canada and the United States and specializes in the area of learning and attention-related difficulties. She is frequently consulted to support families impacted by a child who has an ADHD diagnosis, and as such, has extensive resources and knowledge that may help those impacted with their day-to-day life at home, school and in the workplace. Shawna recognizes and honours the important fact that not all families and parents operate the same way and is available to consult with parents to help find tailored solutions that work based on their specific needs. Assistance with the creation of various visual tools and the completion of various forms for funding is also offered. In addition to her history of working with children and families, she often provides professional development opportunities for teachers and is a mom to 3 very busy boys. Shawna has been a guest speaker several times on WDCX 99.5 live radio and is passionate about people, and seeing them follow their dreams to become all they were meant to be.
