Nakachi is a psychotherapist with a mental health social work specialization and registration. She is Dean’s list graduate of Ryerson University.
Nakachi has specialized training and experience working with first responders and their families dealing with operational stress. She is also a nationwide critical incident responder. Her breadth of experience also includes a significant amount of work with children and families, which is a population she is passionate about serving. She is resilience focused and takes a holistic health approach to assessment and treatment by working with the biological, psychological, and social determinants of health. In this way, she ensures treatment is effective, tailored to the unique needs of each client, and progress is both measurable and sustainable. She is well rounded in her knowledge and experience of the effective application of treatment methods that are grounded in research including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Gottman method, and Mindfulness Based Interventions. Nakachi prioritizes building a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients as the foundation of counselling. She is a warm and empathetic supporter that is well able to treat a wide variety of mental health concerns including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Phobias, Trauma/PTSD, family conflict, parenting, behavioural concerns, communication skills, self-esteem, stress management, life transitions, suicide ideation and self-harm, sleep issues.
