Stephanie Wilson,

Psychological Associate

Stephanie is a Psychological Associate, with a M.A. in Counselling Psychology from McGill University. She has over 20 years experience in School Psychology and is a registered member of the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.

Stephanie has significant experience in school psychology, providing assessment, consultation, and intervention with children and adolescents who are experiencing a mismatch between their current skill set and the combined demands of the curriculum and educational system.

Struggling to meet expectations without the right type of support can create a stress cycle that is hard to break, causing distress and upsetting levels of frustration and dysregulation.

Stephanie believes that different ways of processing information can lead to behavioral, attentional, academic, and social challenges (e.g., Autism, ADHD, LD, ID, gifted, and anxiety) making it harder for children and adolescents to meet the expectations of their current environments.

Understanding one’s cognitive preferences alongside the barriers to learning, through a comprehensive
psychological assessment can increase students’ self-awareness of their strengths and vulnerabilities while also helping the adults around them put the individualized strategies in place necessary for students to feel that they are being heard and their needs responded to.

Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys reading, community theatre, visiting art galleries, trying new sports, listening to podcasts, and hanging out with friends and family.
